I suffer from a genetic heart condition. I didn’t ask for it, it is part of me and I had no choice but to learn to live with it. I work hard to maintain an active exercise regimen and eat healthy. Being the heathiest I can be, is important to me. But I don’t feel I am doing enough?
I have discovered that most illnesses are magnified by the toxins and free radicals, which are poisons we breath in everyday of our lives. Newborn infants, not yet exposed to the outside world, are in danger and were found to be exposed to outside toxins and free radicals. It’s getting scary.
I take prescription drugs for my condition. Prescription drugs are poisons that I am putting into my body every day supposedly designed to help me fight these toxins and free radicals. What scares me is the side effects attached to my prescription drugs. Some of the side effects can be life threatening.
What are toxins and free radicals?
Toxins and free radicals are poisonous substances that are produced by metabolic activities of a living organism and is usually very unstable, notably toxic when introduced into the tissues, and typically capable of inducing antibody formation.” Toxins and free radicals are the major causes of premature aging, sickness and diseases.
Our exposure to toxins and free radicals is increasing at an alarming rate and can be found everywhere. They are present inside each and every one of us right now.
The average human being takes 20,000 breaths per day. We are sucking these toxins and free radicals into our body right now and it’s harming our cells and its aging your body at an accelerated rate. We all have to breath and eat to live. There’s no and it is only going to get worse escaping this toxic burden. We are exposed to 100’s of 1000’s of toxins and free radicals every day.
So what can we do to combat these toxins and free radicals? I started searching for alternatives by looking at Vitamins, Minerals, Supplements and Antioxidants, both manufactured verses natural and their effectiveness.
What are Vitamins?
Vitamins are natural substances found in living things such as plants and also some meats, as most animals eat plant food. Vitamins must be obtained in the body from foods as they cannot be produced by the body. Vitamins are not sources of energy and they do not contribute to the actual substance of the body. They are however, vital for the maintenance of our health. Some vitamins are not very stable. They can be easily destroyed by poisons we have inside our body.
What are Minerals?
Minerals are metals widely found in nature, particularly in various mineral deposits and soils, meaning that they are available to be taken up by plants and animals that serve as food sources for humans. Plants get their minerals from the soil. Soil gets minerals from water washing over rocks. Minerals are metals regarded as essential for human health in trace amounts include iron, zinc, copper, manganese, calcium, sodium and selenium just to name a few. For vitamins to do their job, they need minerals.
What are supplements?
Supplements manufactured vitamins and minerals that have been extracted from plants or created in a laboratory and put into a form that can be ingested and used by the body. Some supplements are effective, some are ineffective and some are actually hazardous to your body. Due to lack of knowledge to select the correct supplement, we are often wasting our money, our time and causing negative effects on our health. We are often uninformed or given bad advice on the need to supplement and sacrifice our health. Some people may suffer from a deficiency and require external sources to assist their body to maintain healthy levels.
What are Antioxidants?
Antioxidants are specific vitamins and minerals that protect your body’s cells from the damaging effects of toxins and free radicals found in our environment. We are exposed to 100’s of 1000’s of toxins and free radicals every day and it is only going to get worse.
This is where things get interesting….
Your body has an incredible ability to health itself. Your body also has the ability to manufacture its own antioxidants. The master antioxidant manufactured by your body is called Glutathione.
Glutathione is considered the master antioxidant due to its unique multifunctional characteristics as well as its ability to neutralize many types of toxins and free radicals that assault every cell of your body. It is one of the only antioxidants produced by your body that can recycle itself again and again to continually fight these toxins and free radicals.
What is the best source of Glutathione? Your own body. Glutathione is produced in every cell of your body.
So, I ask you, “is it better to have your body heal itself from within or take manufactured supplements?”
